The Meridian Building

The Meridian Office Building at Northshore Plaza is a comprehensive renovation of an existing professional office building in the Bearden area of Knoxville. The project repositions an outdated structure to better align with contemporary office needs while maintaining the advantages of its established location and footprint.

Working within the building’s existing structure, the design approach focused on transformation rather than replacement. A new exterior “skin” was applied to refresh the building’s appearance, while the interior was fully gutted to accommodate updated mechanical and electrical systems.

Site and architectural details were carefully considered as part of the renovation. A small plaza was added to display the owner’s sculpture, while custom wrought-iron railings were designed to complement the building’s architectural features.
