Pizza Rio
Hospitality

Pizza Rio reimagines an existing dinner theater building along the Parkway in Pigeon Forge as a Brazilian-inspired pizza restaurant. Designed by GAE Architecture + Design, the project introduced a new dining concept rooted in the experience of Brazilian steakhouses, where specialty pizzas are brought directly to the table.

The space was designed to maximize an open floor plan, incorporate a centralized bar, and create breakout areas for parties both inside and out. Changes in materials help define the main dining area along with semi-private and private dining zones, allowing the layout to support flexibility, flow, and a variety of dining experiences.

The kitchen was planned for efficiency, with bright lighting, large window views, and improved flow for both waitstaff and kitchen staff. The bar features a distinctive stone countertop, floating internally lit shelves, and under-counter lighting that highlights small-scale tile work, while a pizza-board-inspired photo backdrop adds a playful moment for guests.
The finished restaurant delivers a vibrant dining environment that reflects the Brazilian-inspired concept while supporting efficient operations. Artwork, materials, decorative lighting, and flexible dining areas work together to complement both the food and the overall guest experience.
