Barre3 Studio in Bearden was designed as a multi-use space that supports the owner’s exercise business while also incorporating private offices and a rooftop retreat. The project brings fitness, work, and gathering together within a single, compact structure.
The sloping, constrained site directly influenced the building’s form and layout. A multi-story structure with a compact footprint allowed the project to maximize usable space while responding to site limitations. This approach led to what became known as an “urban treehouse for adults,” with layered spaces organized vertically rather than spread across the site.
The three-story building is capped by a roof garden designed for private use, complete with a bar and restroom facilities. This rooftop retreat adds a unique outdoor component to the project, expanding how the space can be used and creating a destination above the street that supports both wellness and social gathering.
